Andrea Pinskey Year: 1977 Register to contact	The Sound of Music. Teacher: Mark Deerwester. Initially, Mark told me that there were no blacks in Germany. I ran out of his office crying my heart broken, again. Yet, upon reflection, Mark chose to allow me to perform. I was allowed to perform in the play as Sister Bertu. This is one of the few times in my life when racism did not prevail. Thank you, Mr. Deerwester. Posted: 01/18/2012
